The Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region recently launched its 2025 call for projects for MAEC Bas-Carbone, a flagship measure designed to support farmers in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions. This new edition is part of a clear commitment to support the agro-ecological transition with concrete tools, measurable indicators and funding to match the stakes.
What's at stake? A lump-sum grant of €18,000 per farm, conditional on a 15% improvement in carbon footprint over 5 years. A structuring opportunity for farms... and for the cooperatives, chambers of agriculture and other advisory structures that support them.
A system that's evolving to be more inclusive and efficient
The 2025 version of the MAEC Low-Carbon scheme marks a real step up. Several adjustments have been introduced to facilitate eligibility and the integration of new tools and methods:
Two methods of calculating the carbon footprint are now accepted: the net footprint at farm level or by production unit. This flexibility enables farmers to choose the most appropriate approach for their production system.
A wider range of eligible tools: in addition to the tools validated under the Low-Carbon Label, the Region has set up its own assessment system to recognize new solutions. This opens the way to a greater diversity of digital approaches.
A flexible time frame:
The initial carbon assessment may have been carried out up to 6 months prior to submission of the application, provided it is representative of the farm's current situation.
These developments are in response to an observation shared by players in the field: to get the transition underway, simple, clear, adaptable... but also rigorous approaches are needed. This is the logic behind MyEasyCarbon, the tool developed by MyEasyFarm.
MyEasyCarbon: a ready-to-use, compliant and proven solution
MyEasyCarbon is eligible for the MAEC Bas-Carbone program. Today, it is one of the most widely used tools by cooperatives and project developers for voluntary or regulatory carbon-related schemes.
Designed as a collaborative platform, MyEasyCarbon enables simplified carbon diagnostics, 5-year monitoring of agricultural practices and the aggregation of reliable data from multiple sources (satellite, weather, plots, FMIS, soil analyses, etc.).
🔍 What makes the difference :
- Compliance with the Label Bas Carbone arable farming method
- Interoperability with existing agricultural software
- Integrated MRV (Measure, Report, Verify) to guarantee data reliability
- Clear, intuitive interface designed for consulting structures
Numerous cooperatives and project developers, including La Tricherie, Maïsadour, La Coopérative Carbone and Lidea Seeds, have already chosen MyEasyCarbon to structure their carbon programs.
Their feedback is unquestionable: responsiveness, expertise, ease of deployment.
A strategic role for support structures
The success of this new MAEC relies on thecommitment of relay structures: cooperatives, chambers of agriculture, CIVAM, CERFRANCE and other advisory bodies. They are the ones who support farmers in diagnosing, putting together applications and monitoring commitments. They therefore need tools that are reliable, compliant and easy to deploy.
With MyEasyCarbon, these structures can :
- Fine-tuning agricultural practices and their carbon impact
- Monitor developments and justify commitments
- Prepare consolidated reports for the Region and funding bodies
- Share data across a territory or sector
The platform also makes it possible to manage several projects in parallel, which is ideal for a multi-site cooperative or a network of farmers.
A deadline not to be missed
The call for projects is open until December 19, 2025. It may seem a long way off, but in reality, setting up a carbon project takes time: choosing the method, collecting data, carrying out the initial diagnosis, formalizing the action plan...
By starting today with a tool like MyEasyCarbon, you'll be able to meet your deadlines, guarantee the quality of the data you submit and maximize your chances of obtaining financing.
