Eureden launches a low-carbon project awareness campaign for its members
Decarbonizing operations, a major concern for Eureden.
Ever since the Eureden Group was founded, a CSR policy based on 25 areas of action, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the fight against global warming, has been in place.
In this context, Eureden conducted a Scope 3 Carbon Footprint assessment in 2020 Scope 3 all of the group’s activities (agriculture, processing, and distribution). The assessment revealed that 80% of emissions are linked to raw materials sourced from the agricultural upstream sector (crop and livestock production). This is therefore a major concern for members who wish to find practical solutions to contribute to efforts to reduce carbon impacts and sequester carbon in soils.
Eureden has decided to make a solution called “Simplified Carbon Self-Assessment” available free of charge to its members (excluding dairy production). This solution is offered by the French startup MyEasyFarm,MyEasyFarm whose MyEasyCarbon tool is certified as compliant with the Label Bas Carbone method for field crops. The goal is to encourage as many members as possible to conduct this simplified carbon assessment on their farms (calculating greenhouse gas emissions and the potential for carbon storage in soils) in order to give them an overview of all the technical levers available to limit their carbon footprint. It is also about assessing what the farm could generate in carbon credits and thus in potential revenue…
