To promote technological innovation in agriculture in a smart way, improve the efficiency and productivity of farms, reduce waste, and protect the environment. These are the principles underlying the work of Myeasyfarm, a startup founded in France in 2017 and launched in Italy in 2019.
"At the base of our activity, there are data and information, which allow us to analyze scenarios and make conscious decisions - begins Vittorio Boneschi Vittorio Boneschi, head of business development in Italy. In fact, we start from a premise: everything that is saved, for the farms, which also have increasingly narrow margins, represents a gain".
With this in mind, Myeasyfarm developed a simple tool accessible to all farmers: the Farm Management System, a platform that connects the farm’s machinery. “The machines working in the field, with the help of sensors, collect a large amount of data,” continues Boneschi. “This information, uploaded to our platform, enables a range of activities, such as creating maps.”
WHY IT'S USEFUL
The platform developed by Myeasyfarm designed to be clear and intuitive and to meet the needs of both small and large businesses. “We operate in various countries, but we focus particularly on France and Italy,” says Boneschi. “More than a thousand companies have subscribed to the agricultural management system for over a year.”
To get to the heart of the matter, the Myeasyfarm platform allows users to manage fields and machinery fleets, automatically generate advanced reports for cost analysis, and monitor weather and NDVI maps in real time. “Our strength,” Boeschi emphasizes, “is compatibility and interoperability with the leading AgTech companies, which means that by leveraging direct connections with certain manufacturers’ systems, we enable immediate data exchange.” “Our goal,” he explains, “is not to provide agronomic advice, but to support the decisions of agricultural entrepreneurs.”
In particular, Myeasyfarm directly connected to the systems of the AGCO Group, John Deere, CNH Industrial, Kubota, Claas, and Kuhn.
"Driven also by the tax credit and 4.0, we have several customers who want to evolve - he adds -. The first step they go through is data collection, in the following years it will be possible to start with comparison and actions aimed at improvement".
MYEASYCARBON, A SUPPORT FOR THE AGRO-ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION
Myeasyfarm also developed a tool to support the transition to agroecology. This tool is called MyEasyCarbon—which was nominated for the 2022 Sima Innovation Awards in the “Services and Software” category—and its goal is to reduce the use of inputs, implement automated traceability, and modify farming practices in order to decarbonize agriculture.
"We aim to become the reference platform for agro-ecological transition in Europe - said Boneschi -. Our tool, already widespread in France, is based on scientific protocols and French literature, but it can also be replicated in Italy, so much so that we are implementing it. The basis is the diagnosis of the company, in order to plan corrective actions that can lead, as an ultimate goal, to transform the company into carbon neutral".
In practice, we start by calculating emissions and consumption and, after the first analysis, we make a balance. With simulations aimed at improving agricultural practices - for example, processes are modified or reduced - models are created that the company tests and then checks the quality of the result. "For a company - concludes Boneschi - being carbon neutral can mean a lot because, in addition to the image return, it is possible to sell carbon credits, thus having an additional source of income".
