AI to tackle challenges in the sugar beet industry
The agri-food sector is facing increasing pressure to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, which account for nearly a third of global emissions. In the Grand Est region, the beet industry is particularly exposed to climate hazards and new transparency requirements (CSRD, SBTi FLAG). The MyEasyAI project transforms agricultural data into a strategic asset to steer this transition in a precise and verifiable manner.
A decision-making assistant for sustainable agriculture
Supported by URCA's LICIIS laboratory and European producer Cristal Union, MyEasyAI aims to develop a decision-making assistant capable of:
- Ensuring data reliability: Facilitating the collection and verifying the consistency of primary data from farmers.
- Supporting advisors: Enabling cooperative advisors to provide more tailored guidance to each farm based on its soil and climate conditions.
- Driving sustainability: Providing Cristal Union's CSR teams with advanced management tools for their decarbonization trajectories
Uncompromising safety and reliability
With a budget of €1.6 million and support from the European Union and the Grand Est region, MyEasyAI is more than just a technological breakthrough. The project is part of a frugal innovation approach to ensure major environmental benefits: a targeted reduction of 27.5% reduction in GHG emissions and an optimization of water resources of 8 to 20%.
As Guillaume Vial, Solutions Manager at MyEasyFarm, points out: "Our ambition is to build a digital twin of the farm [...] to offer farmers a transparent solution, where every AI recommendation is explainable."
