MyEasyFarm officially announces its partnership with Schweizer Zucker to collect primary data from its growers and develop its reporting system Scope 3.
A streamlined diagnostic process, designed for scalability
To achieve this goal without increasing the administrative burden on farmers or Schweizer Zucker’s staff, MyEasyFarm is rolling out its Simplified Carbon Diagnostic. This self-service questionnaire, which can be completed on a smartphone, takes about 30 minutes to fill out.
The Simplified Carbon Diagnostic collects the essential data needed for a credible Scope 3 carbon footprint: land area, yield, tillage, irrigation, and mineral or organic fertilization. This replaces generic sector-wide emission factors with actual primary data specific to each farm.
The first wave primarily involves growers in southern Germany. Each farmer receives an individual GHG assessment, while Schweizer Zucker has an aggregated dashboard that feeds directly into its reporting Scope 3.
Primary Data in Support of Sustainability
For Schweizer Zucker, the initiative addresses several issues at once:
- Empowering farmers through a self-service tool
- Reliability, using verifiable primary data instead of generic emission factors
- Climate trajectory, laying the groundwork for comprehensive “ Scope 3 ” reporting and SBTi alignment starting in 2027.
A proven model in the sugar beet industry
This partnership builds on MyEasyFarm ’s experience in the sugar industry. MyEasyFarm is already working with Cristal Union, one of Europe’s leading sugar and ethanol cooperatives, to calculate the emissions Scope 3 from more than 9,000 farmers and 160,000 hectares of sugar beets using MyEasyCarbon.
The Schweizer Zucker project uses the same MMRV (Measure, Monitor, Report, Verify) approach, adapted into a simplified, data-driven format tailored to the partnership’s current phase.
